How can you improve your service today?

The keys to a successful life are to constantly strive to improve yourself, your ability to serve others and your service to others.

You must realise that whatever you get in life, you get through, or from, other people, and what you get from other people depends on how they value your service. (If you have ever managed to get something for nothing, something that did not involve another person then please let me know. I’d be very interested to hear your story.)

Now some people say, "When you treat me better I’ll be nicer." Or "When you pay me more I’ll work harder." Or "I’ll learn more about my job when I get a better position."

These people have it all wrong and it’s why the majority never amount to much. They are always waiting for the world around them to change. They haven’t yet accepted that they have the power to change the world around them by changing themselves.

In order to get more you have to do more and in order to do more you have to be more.

What can you do today to improve yourself? What can you do better? What can you do differently? What should you stop doing? What should you start doing?

The best way to improve your service to others is to realise that serving others is not your obligation to them or a burden to you but in fact your obligation to yourself. Realise that the quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships and the quality of your relationships depends on the quality of your service to others.

The really great thing about this is that the only way to truly serve yourself is to serve others so "How will you improve your service today?"
