The best way to be interesting to others is to be interested in them.
Too often
we get "me" deep in conversation and we overwhelm the other person with our
exploits. Much like the guy out on a date and he is bragging to his date about
all his accomplishments and how important his job is and... and.. But eventually
he says, well that's enough talking about me, Tell me what do you think about my
car.
The most important possession that any person has is their name and the thing
that absorbs most of their attention is their own selves. So try this. Take the
time to really listen when someone speaks to you. Remember there is a difference
between merely hearing and actually listening. Hearing is a matter of absorbing
sound. Listening is the skill of paying attention to what you are hearing.
Pay attention. Look at the person. Make regular eye contact (just do not stare).
Put down your cell phone. Leave your email alone. Focus your mind on the person
and the subject. Use the persons name when you speak. Give them enough time to
speak. Do not interrupt.
If you really care what they think about you, show them that you really care about
what they think.
To live your best life be true to the YOU, that you want to be.
Live with passion. Change your life from making a living to making a difference.
