It's been said that any fool can condemn
and complain and most do. I think that there is more power in compliments
that in complaints so this section is where we are going to give credit
where credit is due.
Come on share your story. There must be someone that you want to compliment.
Remember that Praising is good for both of you. Criticising is good for none of you.
If you have a compliment that you would like to share.
Mike is a waiter (or waitron, to be painfully politically correct) at the
Wiesenhoff in Macro Germiston. Whenever I go there I try to have him as my
waiter (sorry waitron) because he is so polite has a good sense of humour
and is always very attentative.
Now you would think that all staff in a restaurant should be this way but
unfortunately they are not. Now the benefit to Mike is that he always gets a
generous tip for his great service. I have also let his manager know how
pleased I am with Mike's service.
Today I want to compliment a customs official at OR Tambo.
Our Customs and Immigration officials do not have a very good reputation but I was very pleasantly surprised when I went through customs when I came back from Windhoek. This lady was so friendly, smiling and joking with each traveller that went to her booth, quite a contrast to the other officials on duty.
Standing in line I thought that I would really like to go to her and luckily I did. She welcomed me back and asked if I had, had a good trip and wished me a great day. What a pleasure to find people who do their job that can become dull and boring and who have to face weary travellers and still stay so pleasant.
Today I want to compliment Themba.
Themba manages my account at the bank and he is one of the most efficient managers I have had in a long time. When he says he will do something, he does it. If he says he will call you back he does. It is such a pleasure to deal with someone who is in a professional role and actually acts professionally.
Well done Themba.
My compliment this week goes to the Jhb
Metro, or who ever it is that cleans the streets. It has been years since
the streets were as clean as they are now. I have been very pleasantly
surprised by my last trips into the city centre so to you, whoever you are
Well Done. Keep it up.
